The Iris Fund works to understand what causes labor in a full-term pregnancy so that we can eventually stop labor from starting early - preventing preterm birth. Every year, at least 15 million babies are born prematurely. In the United States alone, 400,000- roughly the population of Tuscon, AZ- are born before their due date. The price tag in the U.S. is $30 Billion. The cost to families like mine is much higher. We live in a world where rare diseases are being cured but we can't tell any pregnant family what causes even normal labor.

The Stillbirth Tax Credit has passed in CT. This legislation establishes a credit for the birth of a stillborn child. Eligible taxpayers may claim a credit of $2,500 against their Connecticut income tax liability (link below). Follow the instructions on Schedule CT-IT, Income Tax Credit Summary, to apply the credit to your upcoming income tax return.

Thanks to our amazing community, we have raised over $1,000,000 from more than 3,000 supporters in 35 states and eight countries. We have received annual and multi-year commitments from a diverse and expanding network including private individuals, family foundations and corporate partners. As we look forward, we will continue to provide catalytic funding today while building the infrastructure to deliver $5-10 million over the coming years.
Our NYC marathon team is sold out, but we still have bibs for Berlin, Dublin and Sydney. We also have a few spots left on our team for the amateur leg of The Tour de France and our favorite local race- The Ridgefield Road Fest with three distances:13.1, Seven miles and The Iris Fund 5K!
